5 out of 5 stars Amazing HD Computer Display!   September 7, 2010
J. Crecca (NJ)
I spent about 2 months trying to find the perfect monitor for my new computer and after researching and browsing I came to this monitor and I am glad that I did. This monitor is simply stunning! Bright, crisp, clear, and the perfect size for games, movies and even when working with documents such as excel and word. I did find that 2 pre-determined settings, Theater or Scenery mode, do have the best color and contrast. The others seem to have a white overlay to them. I primarily use this for gaming, Modern Warfare 2, Bad Company 2, Starcraft 2 and others which are very fast paced games and there is no display lag that I can think of and hooking this monitor up 2 nVidia GTX 480's and running it in HD is simply amazing. If you can get past the goofy looking stand which isn't all that bad once you get the setting rights its a terrific buy.

For the price of this monitor as well, its an amazing deal!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect monitor for me and a steal at $190   September 5, 2010
D-Walker (New York City)
I thought the limitations of the tilt would be a problem but it works perfectly for the table I have it on and the design hides all the cords. I've used it a lot in the 30 days I've had it and -- so far -- love everything about it: the sleek, unique, surprisingly-thin design, excellent build, beautiful picture, touch-screen controls and headphone/speaker jack, which I use for external speakers. I'd planned to get a Samsung 23" LED monitor so I expected to spend at least $100 more than the $190 I paid for this one. The only downside -- and I hesitate to call it that -- is you only get sound from the headphone/speaker jack (via the HDMI connection) if you don't use the analog connection on your PC (which I connect to my A/V receiver); you can only get sound from one or the other at any time. Not a big deal but something to know.

Usually I think about electronics purchases weeks or months before I make them but I didn't hesitate with this one and couldn't be happier with my decision.

3 out of 5 stars I feel a bit misled...   September 2, 2010

The monitor has a great picture and a great price but I feel misled by the fact that it does not have a way to mount the monitor on a bracket/monitor arm. It would be good to mention this in the specs since it used to be standard for monitors to be mountable...

4 out of 5 stars All good but 1   August 31, 2010

First of all, this is an excellent monitor, i am extremely glad i got it and i can see myself as having it for a very long time. They did a great job on this product and for $200, its very competitively priced. The colors looks amazing, there is no noticeable lag whatsoever, its a great sized monitor, yet small enough to fit on almost any desk. It has a very good look to it, from the side its super thin, its a glossy piano black, yet the screen is matte so no glare or unnecessary reflections get it the way. The one problem i have is the way the screen is tilted back, i have a higher sitting desk so as the screen tilts up, it dims slightly from my angle. I recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a great, well priced monitor. But, i really recommend it to anyone who has lower rising desk because the way the screen leans back would be perfect for that person. Though, it still looks great from any desk.

3 out of 5 stars Nice product, awful instructions   August 27, 2010

Pro: Good price, nice appearance, no dead or stuck pixels, good display

Con: The instruction sheet is printed in 30 languages, with nothing useful in any of them. For instance, if both VGA and HDMI inputs are connected, only VGA works no matter what choice you make. No mention in the instructions. If you turn off the monitor and leave the computer running, on monitor power on a message 'No HDMI signal' shows up. But it really means move the mouse. No mention. In power saving mode the pilot light flashes (not mentioned). Why not that instead of No Signal? An e-mail to ASUS tech support took nearly 2 weeks to get a response. To cover all bases, I also e-mailed eVGA, my card supplier. They made 3 suggestions before ASUS got back to me, and it wasn't their problem. The on-screen-display offers 4 modes but (surprise!) the instructions say nothing about them.
